Does anyone know if Baldur's Gate (and preferably BG II and NWN) will work on a computer with an Athlon AMD or Celeron processor? I'm thinking of buying a new computer with one of these processors, but not if it means I can't play my favourite games. Thanks for any pointers

I have AMD Duron 1000MHz, and it works (and why wouldn't it).

I do not think you have to worry. I have some friends with all sorts of HW combinations in their PCs (most of their PC's are assembled by one of my friends, who happens to be a PC HW nerd). The pieces used in their PCs differ very much as they were chosen as the cheapest/best parts on the market at the day when the PC were build.
Insane Oh - I almost forgot - They all play/have played BG1, BG2 and NWN (I have only been playing BG1 on my Compaq/intel PC - so far so good ). Just remember to install the newest patch, and you should be up and running on any PC (or MAC I guess). |
Thanks you two. This morning I went and bought a Compaq Presario 1.33ghz AMD Athlon laptop. Not being able to play Baldur's Gate on there was my only concern, and now that I don't have to worry anymore, the good times can roll ;)
