Ok, I have been running around skull castle trying to find this thing that old geezer wants and i do not think i have found it. I noticed one thing that has perked my interest though. I noticed that when you jump into the water off the bridge and go to the right tunnel and to the right tunnel again that there seems to be an area going off to the left of that tunnel. I cant get to it though because the current sends me flying past it. Is this anything and what the heck is it that the old geezer wants?

Talk to the lich about his "staff" - that ought to get things moving again.

As for that water channel you mentioned - think that is the bit that loops around from the traps room where you get the key to visit G'ez. You can try going backwards against the current - that seems to work or at least it did when I tried it in the Dragon Spire.

The water channels: you cannot go back in the Skull castle. The channels are "one way".
