I delivered a package for the Mayor of Valera, but so far he's got no word it's been delivered. Is this a common bug?

Yes, this is normal. The mail from Ishad N'ha to Valeia is rather slow...

So there is no way for the Mayor to recognize you have delivered the package?

I just started playing W&W again and encountered some bugs such as this one and thought maybe it was because my savegame files were corrupt or something.

I've been playing this game on and off for almost a year now and I'm bearly past the serpent temple, hehe.

No. He will eventually acknowledge it, but don't worry about it. He's not the one you get the XP from anyway.

May be a stupid question, but did you go back to the Mayor in Valeia? By the time I got there I just walked in and he acknowledged it right off.
