If I install Myst III Exile and Direct X 8.0 which it runs on, will I loose the
ability to play this game? I play W&W in software mode.

Hi Ladybug -

Not certain. Many players have been able to play W&W with Directx 8 on their machines. Guess you could try and see what happens.

Worse case would be that you might have to uninstall DX8 to play W&W when you want to and reinstall it to play Myst III.

I'm going to try with Direct X 8 first, then 7. I'm hoping both games will run on one or the other. My son takes care of all my computer set up. I'm not too good at that stuff. He gave me 200 gig hard drive for Mother's Day and he's coming to install it today. He,he! I'm getting ready for the coming of Morrowind!

What a lucky Ladybug! 200 gig - I can't even imagine that! When I bought this computer 18 months ago, I thought 10 gig was pretty neat. 'Course, I'm the same person who in 1986 thought 10mb was more than I'd ever need!

Hi Fantaghiro! I always love reading your posts, here and on the W&W Discussion Board. I'm saving up to get a GeForce 3 graphics card to go with my new hard drive.
