Do you think it would be a good idea to change characters into the special roles that would enhance abilities they already have from a previous role (i.e. change a ninja into an Assasin) or to change them to vary their abilities as much as possible (Warlock into Valkyrie for example). Just wanted a little input on this for my next playthrough.

I was just going to let Saz (with his more extensive knowledge on this subject reply) but I guess I'll put in my 2 cents -
I sort of favor having particular characters really specialize in particular things - which follows your ninja to assassin change rather than trying to become "jacks of all trades". I never completely manage it - always have a character that ends up going for the "gusto" - LOL!! Specialists can really be a blessing when you need them but having someone with a lot of varied skills might very well prove more useful more often. That probably didn't help much! http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...miles/wink.gif Wyv |
I usealy have my charaters spec in one field, like my main fighter is the big "tank" so to say, hes got all the HP, heavy weapons, armor, etc. So i would go something like rogue to ninja to assassin, priest/monk/valkyrie, stuff like that. I think the charater would be much stronger if you stick to a theme for them. Just my thoughts.

That's kind of what I thought Wyv, but thanks for the input. I always have that one "jack of all trades" too. My wizard ended up becoming a warlock, then ranger and then paladin. He had every book of magic but he had some rather interesting holes in his spellbooks.

Just one idea that I found rather appealing and effective. I first changed my warrior into a paladin and then a Valkyrie. Paladins have power over the undead....Valkyries have power over the undead.... Basically, my Valkyrie is an undead busting tank. Give it a try if you haven't already.

Jafin - I haven't tried that - sounds like a very good character specialization! Will have to do that on my next go around. Thanks for the idea! http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...miles/wink.gif

Yeah, that "undead hunter" would come in handy in shuregon (I have no idea how to spell that) castle.

Tkoto - that's because it's such an odd spelling (to me anyways)- Shurugeon - you were close enough that everyone reading will understand what you meant.
And, if you want it: Typo License Wyv |
Specialization is very good way to go for the party of six members. We can have real profy in every field. But if you are going to solo or to two-member adventures, it would be wise to study more skills since there will be a need for healing, lockpicking, stealing, etc. - not only fighting...
I can be wrong, all abovementioned is only my opinion http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...miles/wink.gif ------------------ Sincerely Yours, Tanda |
Tanda - quite excellent advice when considering using a smaller party!!
Thanks for bringing that up! Wyv |
