I killed the vamps in skull castle and got a lich key?
so what next!
where is this temple thingly i need to do next

Far to the north, on the Enchanted Isle. You can't miss it, it's HUGE. Look for the Sphinx in the front!

If you asked about the key then there are two possibilities:
1. You have already opened the chest in the lich's library - throw the key away and curse yourself you didn't want the ring.
2. You haven't opened the chest - now it's time to try again!
Note: the chest is level 12, 5 stars. It can be picklocked. My experience with 12 for Traps and Locks; chest was "Moderate" and opened at the first try.
