just a question.
the thing about being poisoned, and the poson having 10 ten days to kill you. is that as soon as you enter the city or only after you talk to those iron thones guys who warn you not to interfere?
i need to know because i having got that missing part of baldurs gate on my scratched cd, cant fulfill the getting the antidote, so if it happens 10 days after entering the city, then i'll be stuck. whereas if i can avoid those guys, then i'll be ok.

also what section of the city are they in? i forget, and need to know if i'm to avoid them

only when you first enter that area, talking to them doesnt initiate it, entering that section of that area does (they automatically talk to you anyway but even if you duck out i think your still hit with it) but you have all the time you want in baldurs gate itself if you havent entered that section yet, anyhows removing the geas is easy and can take less than a day if i remember rightly

elianne, to the best of my knowledge, the 10 days begins from the moment that Lothander comes up to you in BG Central and tells you that you've been poisoned. But that won't happen if you don't go to the "lower" part of the BG Northeast map.

Grungi, it makes no difference how long it takes to solve the Poison quest, since elianne has already said, "i having got that missing part of baldurs gate on my scratched cd, cant fulfill the getting the antidote."

elianne, you seem to have 3 good options here:
1) Never go to the lower part of the BG Northeast map--you'll never get poisoned.
2) DO go to that map, and kill Lothander before he gets away. You'll probably want to whack Marek as well, but be sure you get Lothander. You'll never get poisoned.
3) Find somebody else who's got a copy of BG1, and ask to copy or burn their Disk 5.

sorry was assuming she'd got it by now off ftp (suggested on another thread) so was able to complete it, if not gatekeeper or console can do it i think.
