Hey does anyone know if you can successfully play an evil char in BG? I don't mean kill everyone in sight evil but role playing someone who is selfish, unscrupulous, self-serving and amoral. does the game give you the requisite dialogue and situational choices to play an evil char? or will the flaming fist just come and lock you away each time you commit an evil act? after all, you are the child of bhaal!!
i heard that in bg2 you can play and complete the game as an evil char but am unsure if this was the case in bg1. i know you can (sort of) in icewind dale...
i've only completed the game once, as a goody-two shoes paladin so would welcome any comments.

I think BG is not thought tobe played as evil cause dialogues sometimes even donīt allow you to be really bad. Simply take a look at the introduction, when Shank or Carbos attacks you, you canīt tell Parda or the priest to leave you in peace, only 'Oh, they attacked me theyīre so bad !!' or 'Itīs nothing, donīt worry'.
And the other point is the reputation, which you should increase sometimes cause the flaming fist wizard: protected from normal missiles, and the flaming fist rangers etc etc are VERY hard, specially in lower levels.

Ok thanks. I hear BG2 will be a lot better at providing evil chars with the scope to be true to their alignment...
