Here's a quick shortcut to NPC discussions:

1- Cortius: R'Thark
2- Ezbereth: Algamesh (or just give her the neckless)
3- Haraspia: Orb of Clarity (or just give her the serpent wand)
4- Ekbu: Ukabu
5- Kol (by serpent temple): Key
6- Shimwiki: Ukabu
7- Scabban: Cure (then blast him)
8- Arbiden: Locations
9- Stout King: Dragon Ore, Deal (you can also kill him and get his hammer if you're lucky... it's a nice one)
10- Kol (in mountain): Mavin
11- Dragon: Elsaramavin

Unfortunately, I'm not too familiar with the ones west of the dragon spire. I'm sure others can fill in the blanks.

Okay, first of all, it's

1-Gorthius and H'Thark
2-Erzebette (and actually it's Kerielle; Erzebette is west of Ishad N'ha).

All else looks great. (And I'm not faulting you about the misspellings; those fonts in the game are TERRIBLE, especially when playing in hardware mode!)

To add to the list, though:

Oracles of Ishad N'ha: "Destiny"
Sirellia: "Oracle"
G'Ezzered Ra: "Staff"
Anephas: "Mavin" (to get the secret on what to do with it in Cet's pyramid)

Good tips!!

Perhaps they should have been posted in the best tips thread! http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...es/biggrin.gif

Thanks!

Good point, thanks Saz.

Thanks, Ryanamur, for bringing this up! It's a great idea, and one that stumps many people (like how to get through the Caves; what to say to the Oracles?)

Here's another one for fun, though. To get the really side-splitting lines from some of the NPC's:

For Rethpian: use "Algamesh" for a laugh, and for a side-splitter, mention "Kerah" to him. He really is disgusting!

For Mekdawa (if you can corner him): mention "Cet" to him. Watch him scream and run!

Same goes for Shinwiki. "Cet" --> He seems inclined to want to wash out your mouth with toadsoap!

Gorthius: mention "Stouts" and "Drink" to him. He's got some interesting ideas on both!

These little tidbits (which I just recently discovered) are why I keep playing the game. You never know what you'll find!

I cut and pasted the what to says to the Best Tip thread (gave you credit!!!).

hehehe - perhaps we should start a separate thread on the funny things the NPCs might say so that more folks will notice it.

The Statue in the Crypt: Sanctus Kerah
Notes:
a) It does not suffice to tell Ekbu "Ukabu". You must speak with Medakwa first, otherwise Ekbu will not trust you.
b) It does not suffice to tell the statue "Sanctus Kerah". You must have Golden Talis in your inventory, otherwise the statue does not open the grate.
c) You do not need to talk with Scabban at all. Answer his speech with Incinerate. This does not spoil the quest.

Yes, but to be ethical, you should have a good reason to kill a fellow wizard guild member... If you just kill him because he's ugly, might as well forget about playing any Gourks, Ratling, Oomphaz or Lizzords caracters. Now his plans to "Conquer the world HaHaHaHa..." is good enough for me... Keeps my concience clear http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif

Sazerac 05-02-2001 12:48 PM

And if that isn't good enough for you, ask him about "Cet". He reveals his true inclination then (if you didn't get it before).

Err... yes, killing Scabban immediately is a bit ugly but it speeds things up. If you are listening to Scabban for the 6th time then, perhaps, you might find such info useful. Of course, I didn't want to recommend to play the game in the Duke Nukem's style.
