Once you get the quest, the Colanth appears there. Wish I had a map, lol I will look up Xignal's thread with a link to a map site and help you out that way.

i have found no pool. the only water i've found is the one with the water fall down both sides and a chest at the bottom and the river leading to and away from it. i have already taken the quest.

I would recommend checking Xignal's site for maps...you will need to swim underwater in the pool you are looking for to obtain something from some elemental dude who lives in a cave down there too.

Obscurity in my attempt to help is not intentional, I honestly can't be specific about the dude, the item, or directions at this moment! Sorry!

oh yeah i know where you mean now. Its that guy who gives you the ring that removes the boulders to access the crystal. I don't think i had the quest when i was there last. Thanx.

The Crystal Pool is reached by going through the waterfall, climbing the ladders, crossing the drawbridge (need crank), taking Hephaestus' lift, dropping through the hole, and going north.
