Hi All. I've read all the previous posts (I think!!) about the sword of mastus quest, but still can't get it. I'm trying to complete some quests I never did on my first time through, but when I go back to the tombs (the 4 chambers in the diamond config behind Rethpian) there's no Mastus and no sword. Any advice?

Were you given the quest to get it?It wasn't there for me untill I was actually given the quest.

Yeah. I went back to Smitty and got the quest, then trucked off to the crypt. Grunt!

The way it's supposed to work is that you go back to the tomb farthest from Rethpian. After you open the lock with the gold key the narrator says that over the doorway are the words "Tomb of Mastus" - inside is a pile of bones with the sword next to them. How does your experience differ?

Oh what an idiot I am... Okay, so I went back AGAIN to the tomb, and there it was, just sitting next to the corps of Mastus. I'd swear it wasn't there before, but I guess it must have been. Although I did close and reopen the door. Perhaps that spawned the sword? But then wouldn't Mastus' spirit have appeared first? No, I'm sure I'm just blind and missed it the first time! Thanks for the help.
