can anyone become an assasin? I haven't got that far yet so i still have time, but i have a char that seems to be stuck in barbarian class. It is taking forever to raise attributes enough to change class, guess i didn't plan far enough ahead in the begiining for my role changes. SO if possible i would like to just take him to assasin and forget the other role changes i had in mind.

You have to perform a special quest to become an Assassin. Talk to the rats just behind the burned-out house north of Ishad N'ha. Ask them about a "Job". They'll tell you what they want you to do.

And yes, anyone can become an Assassin.

After you have done your job you will get a very special gift. Don't forget to invoke it.

Also remember after invoking it, to take it back to the Thieves' guild to get your "promotion."

BTW, if you're playing without the patch, and you want to keep the "item", when the Guildmaster asks if you want to become an Assassin, make sure you "toss" the item to another PC before answering "yes". You can then get it back and equip it. When damage-blessed it becomes quite a formidable weapon...one of the best in the game.
