Has W&W sold well enough to warrant a sequel? I think it deserved better reviews than it got, and it was probably priced a bit too high, and it definitely didn't get the advertising it needed, but the game just screams for a sequel to carry our characters over into. New classes and new elites and new spells and spell classes would be great!

I have enjoyed W&W much more than any of D.W.'s Wizardry games.

Anyone out there have the inside scoop? Anyone?

Thanks,
David

Haven't heard anything about a sequel but I'm not giving up hope! It is obvious from this board that many people discovered how good this game is and it does deserve a sequel!

Maybe if we all start writing HP they will realize it too! http://www.tgeweb.com/ironworks/cgi-...iles/smile.gif

The current consensus is that Bradley won't stop developing RPGs (if he can find the cash to do so). I have no information about whether it will be for the PC again, nor if it might be an online only game. (Don't think he should do that, but markets outside the single player PC games are more interesting to the publishers currently.)
It might be nice if it were a sequel of W&W, but I expect a new game to be nice too; W&W is a 'new' game, but still looks quite a lot like Wizardry. http://www.tgeweb.com/ironworks/cgi-...iles/smile.gif

i asked this question a while back. i think it was here but could have been over at vault. someone replied confidently that the sequel was in beta testing. is this far from the truth? was i duped?

Slug, I certainly hope you are right, but it is quite a contrast to the picture I've built from rumours here and there. The only 'inside' source I've spoken is a guy that sometimes publishes at this forum under the name of Algazor, and he left HPI before W&W was finished. So I might be wrong in my estimations.
What I did hear was D.W. Bradley recently became father of a son (first time) (from news at www.rpgvault.net), which might influence the amount of time he'll spend on a new game.

Well this was the first game with nice Mr Bradleys name on it that I bought (mainly because I haven't had, or been able to afford, a computer until quite recently) and as such his name then meant nothing to me. I now rate this as an improved version (improved as in now the monsters can move on modern OS systems) of Daggerfall. I'd definately buy any sequel without question.

I don't know where that post on the vaultnetwork's forum came from. There isn't a sequel in Beta. I did mention a couple times elsewhere that if the game had been on schedule, you would have been playing Swords & Sorcery II, while HPI was wrapping up work on S&S 3. Maybe that's where the confusion came from.

HPI is working on a new game proposal/demo, but I have no idea if it's related to W&W or not. Their first priority will be to get funding. After they've secured that, I'm sure there's going to atleast be another PATCH for W&W.
