Does anyone know what the deal is with the spirit of Rumphy? I milked him for experience early on. If you keep coming back, he will keep reappearing. I never understood the point of going down their to get him aside from xp though.

That's all he's good for...XP and the wands of stars that he drops. (Sell them for quick cash). He's good for levelling up newly-changed role characters. It's reminiscent of the "Murphy's Ghosts" from Wizardry I.
