My son claims I haven't been playing RPGs long enough to know about typing in responses (see previous message regarding the forum topic about key word -SANCTUS KERAH) - he's 35 by the way. I cut my baby RPG teeth on good old MIGHT & MAGIC. Anyway, how does one go down a ladder?? I seem to just fall and take damage!! Also, how do I cast a spell such as TORCH without an apparent target?? There are probably other spells that fall into this category!

Fall and SPLAT is the most common method - the designers did not make a "good" way to go down the ladders. WIth a LOT of practice there are some techniques that work, but most of us consider them more time and effort than worth while.

Target such spells on one of your characters! http://www.tgeweb.com/ironworks/cgi-...iles/smile.gif

A more general tip: all spells and items that have their names in red (in the selection box) should be targetted on opponents, and those with their names in blue should be targetted on party members, with CTRL-leftclick.
Note that some of the blue spells can also be targetted on opponents, so be careful not to accidentally cast 'restore health' on the naga when she's almost dead, right 'Sorzerac'?

climbing down a long ladder...
what I did is go towards the ladder untile you are top of it, turn around, look up towards the center of the ceiling, and go down.
