I've got a bad feeling I'm hung out to dry, but I've gotta' ask.

I've done everything in the Shurugeon Castle except finish off Haleabus...I think. I've got the Evil Elements to transform the Masque and am standing outside the north door of the pool room.

I THINK I LOST THE KEY THAT OPENS THAT ROOM!

I bet it was the one that was hanging on the "hook" further in...labeled "Rune Key" or something. I skipped around so much running quests that I'm just now getting back to the castle to finish it. I must have dropped the key somewhere thinking I was done with it...obviously I'm not. Is there something else that can be done to open that door? Some spell that opens locked doors. Lock picks didn't seem to work.

Also, I got my Dragon Armor from the Stout mines, went back to Ishad Na and was THEN given the Stout Guard Invitation quest. I don't have a writ anymore, and giving the gatekeeper Booger Brew just makes him belch happily. How can I get back in to deliver this invitation?

Important items like that usually don't disappear when you drop them. Use your "Spirit Eye" spell and look for white dots on your map. You'll find the chests, levers, and any items you dropped that you may still need.
I haven't been there in so long I am not sure if that is the key you want, but if it is, you can still find it. If it isn't, someone will tell you what else you need to do.

Also, if you dropped the writ, it can be found the same way. In order to get a new one with Boogre Brew, you may have to use the talk option and get the guy to say that he will trade one for the other. Not sure how that procedure works since I somehow ended up with two in my game.

I used spirit eye and wonder of wonders I actually found that key lying in the forest south of the castle. What wonderous luck!

Haleabus is defeated, I bear the Shroud to present to the Dragon...the Mavin shall yet be mine...to wield and...apparently destroy me, as well.
