Hi
When your mage has reached lvl 3 you get 2 magic missiles of 1d4+1 dmg each. Is it possible in BG to make those missiles hit different targets (As in the AD&D rules)? The question goes for flame arrow. Insane |
nope, they all hit one character, no matter how high a level you are.

depends if you got two seperate spells of magic missile learnt of course you can hit seperate targets, but any one spell converges on one target only, if you got ring of wizadry and are so inclined you get 15 magic missiles to chuck, so thats 15 different targets if you want, but each missile only hits 1 target

In the AD&D description of the spell, you can send all those missiles at one target or different targets (which is a very good idea, if you encounter a group of spell casters. Magic missile is fired at initiative + 1 and always hits/gives damage and therefor disturbs the enemy spell caster (you have to 'win' the initiative though)). Insane |
BG isnt true AD&D - this is one of the differences. you cannot target a MM on multple targets. IN BG2 you can do that with a wand of lightning bolts, but I dont know if that holds for the BG1 version.
And if it does, I recommend extreme caution. 6 bolts flying around can ake out a *party* with ease. |
but in bg2 the bolts don't do as much damage (individually) and you have more HP's and has been stated already the closest you can com is having another character with the wand of MM use it as a mage-disruptor, while your mage does the same
