I installed the smaller version of W&W's and when i go to play i can make my chars and buy equipment,but when i try to leave the town through either exit it crashes me to my desktop.
my system specs are:
Hewlett Packard
celeron 700 Mhrz processor
64 mb of ram
3dfx voodoo 3 3000
9x dvd player i think

What OS are you running? If it's Windows 2000 Professional, you may have some problems. I'll see if I can find my posting on what to do about W2K and bump it up to the top.

Okay...being that Windows ME's kernel is similar to W2K, the problem may be the same. Check the post about the Windows 2000 bug and see if that helps solve your problem. There's another possible solution posted down that same thread as well.

I got the same problem when I started. The hotline people are nice, but cannot give you much help (hope they remember my solution).

It's all in the DLLs - I installed AOE (all with expansions), which upgraded some DLLs [then un-installed again] & oh wonder WW worked.

(Luckily we bought WW & AOE the same day & my wife installed/tried AOE first, else we still would not be running WW I guess).
