I'm playing w\a fighter\cleric and for some reason when I get to Naskel and start chapter two I get Minor drain as a special ability in stead of cure light wounds. Wereas when I play w\my thief\mage I only get cure light wounds. Does any body knpw why this?????????

It's based upon your reputation. If your reputaion is in the good or neutral range (i think) then you get a cure light wounds, if you're disliked, then you get larloch's minor drain.

Ok Thanks but that brings up anouther question last time i played i got slow poinion after activating lvl 5 (rep was 20) so is thier an alternative spell you get then if you have low reputation ??????

Yes, there is. The special abilities for evil people are Larloch's minor drain, vampiric touch and one other that slips my mind at the moment.

I think this is more alignment-related rather than reputation-related. The more evil you are, the more offensive mage spells you get. I think [img]tongue.gif[/img]

hmm vampiric touch and minor drain are pretty crappy though most of the time, i prefer the healin and slow poison esp as u can use it on other people and it casts almost instantly

draw upon holy might is the other one you pick up if you're good, a great spell for any kind of warrior (my 19 str paladin loved it)

What's wrong with being Evil, and yet having a high Reputation? That's the easiest path to World Domination: Win the hearts and minds of the people to become a dictator.

Although, if you were roleplaying that, you'd need a decent INT and you couldn't be Chaotic Evil.

ah the evil corrupter type like sarevok, yeah i spose, im just pretending to be nice, but once i, kill sarevok i show my real self, muahahaha die die die die, ahem, id still like more evil options, ie you take one route if your good and another if evil , or maybe when you finish the game if you are of evil align with low rep you get a different game ending, where the city of baldurs gate is razed and you begin a war with amn deliberately to further your own ends and basically rule the sword coast with an iron fist, that kinda thing [img]smile.gif[/img]
