Can BG1 be played in another graphics size setting, like BG2 can? How?

I think you're pretty much stuck with the one setting. The problem is that if you play BG I full screen, you're going to get large pixels and a very 'blocky' kind of effect. I personally prefer to play it in a 640 x 480 window; smaller maybe, but at least the graphics are clear and sharp.

Just out of interest, how hard would it be to make BG1 play under the BG2 engine?

I presume the scripting language will be the same, and all the items & spells are already in BG2. So it should be just a case of moving around files, and maybe generating a new chitin.key?

Anyone know enough to tell me why this idea is unworkable?

Default and only res is 640*480. That should be fine up to about 17 inches. Anyone playing on a 21 will proabably be annoyed by the pixels. In which case I have a simple solution. Sit further from the monitor.
