Don't worry about it! It took me forever the first time to figure that out as well, haha! I finally got it when I bumped one of the statues accidentally and down it went down the corridor...duh!

Thanks all for help so far. I have another question about the temple of isis. I seem to be stuck. I found the baboon statue and then the ashes of anephas, now I have no idea where I am supposed to go. The only place I havent gone is in that pit with the pillar, but all it does is go back up and keep me out of the pit and there doesn't seem to be anything *in* the pit. *sigh* Thanks for any insight.

Have you "moved" the statues blocking the side corridors from the main Altar room?

The one to the south leads to an area that is vitally important...the main Temple of Isis.
