Somehow my character did not want to speak to Grunaxe (Torin's father the fallen samurai) in the Boogre prison
What does he say and is there something I should do for him or say to Torin??

Not sure if talking to him completes your quest to find out what happened to him...maybe try one of the people with the quest to get more out of him.
I only remember him telling me to free the spirits in the prison, but he does say more.

Torin is only interested in arrows to go after the dragon that he believes killed his father and won't talk to you about anything else than he already has.

I don't recall finding Grunaxe himself. You can get a quest to
find out what happened to him. To do that you need to find his
bracelet and give it to the boogre witch who will then open the
final door to the sleeping queen. Seems she was in love with him?
That seems to satisfy the quest. Or maybe not - I later killed
her to get the bracelet back and so had it when reporting back.
Does anyone know if you need it or is just having found it and
talked to the witch enough?

I left Pris Keila' with the jewelry she had asked for...in my game she is still standing at the top of the ramp with it (a ring or a bracelet?) in her possession.

There's no use for Grunaxe's ring after giving it to Pris Kiela.
Meeting Grunaxe is only needed for a bushi guild quest. Not sure if the guild accepts you having seen him, but not talked to him.

You lucky goits. I walke din there (Boogres all) and his voice said something like "My spirits leave me". Then I was attacked by two or three ghosts and by the time I'd dealt with them he just wasn't there.Not at all. I ignored the ghosts and searched the room (slapping on healing spells like there was no tomorrow) but he'd dissappeared. The Bushi guild told me to go and find him.They wouldn't listen to me explain that he seemed to have gone on to a better place (BTW Grunaxe doesn't sound very Oriental does it? Neither does Torin (Thorin Oakenshield?) come to that).

When you enter the cell (using the stick in the hole), go straight to Grunaxe (in the first cell on the right on the wall wall you enter from) and talk to him then. You can talk to him for a while, and he asks you to help set the other spirits free. When you step in front of a cell door, it will open. Once you kill all the ghosts in the cell area, he will disappear so don't kill them first. I went back and talked to his son (Torin) to tell him what happened to his father, but he didn't seem to want to listen when I tried to tell him it was the Boogres that killed his father and not the dragon.

Hmm, just a note to say i remember after killing the witch. I got back the ring, but she seems to appear in different areas in the cave and everytime i kill her again, i get a free ankh
