now, lessee.

whats a nodwick (as young skywalker asked)? its a name i wish i heard more often.

check out Dragon magazine (browse through it at the shelf if you're not inclined to buy it; its a dungeons and dragons gaming mag). nodwick should be hidden somewhere in there.

he's a henchman, AD&D (2nd ed) style. nose thats getting bigger to act as a ballast to all the loot he has to carry home on behalf of the real heroes. gets regularly resurrected by the priest who uses duct-tape to put him back together. he dies a lot because 1) the wizard and warrior in the party use him to set off traps and 2) he wears a red shirt (star trek, with william shatner anyone?)

he's got his own comic too, but ive never seen it. residing in singapore may account for that, but it doesnt seem to be produced on a very large scale. xmen, nodwick is not.

tis time for me to fade now, luke. be sure to catch me in the upcoming episode 2. im a blast. and ill try to stick to on topic posts from now on. (crosses fingers)

obiwan kenobi.

as a disclaimer (sigh, im spoiling the mood of my own post)...this nodwick thread's actually a reply to skywalker's question (whats a nodwick?) in a (very) previous thread which opened up a discussion on comics...

i'd have replied on that thread itself, but i didnt want ppl scrolling through 28 or so posts just to find this OT post...

As far as my "handle" evoking the shadow of Star Wars (though I do love the first film), It has less to do with Luke and more to do with Loki, the Norse God of Mischief. In the Sandman comic series by Neil Gaiman, in a storyline called Season of Mists, Loki is called Skywalker by Odin King of the Norse Gods. I wonder if that is where George Lucas got the name: Loki Skywalker - Luke Skywalker. I'm pretty sure Loki had been called skywalker in the original myths. Also all male thieves I create are always named Loki, hence the connection to RPGs.
