It's been a while but try dropping the brew where the other offerings are/were - right in front of the statue!

I think you have to be just close enough to not get burned, and try to use it.(If not try give. You really have to be very close.) Save before you do it, sometimes you only get fortitude, sometimes Berserk trait, and the best IMHO Giant Strike!

Sorry, it does. Well, they say you get strong that way.
Restoring hasn't helped me with the rewards though, I always get fortitude. Not exactly what I was hoping for .

Carg: agreed. It seems to be random, but dependent on the game. Kind of like the Sphinx's questions. No matter how many times I reload, I get the same questions...but it's different with a different party. Idol of Bongo works the same way, I guess.

Perserverance is the rule of the day, 5 of 6 got Giantstrike and 1 got Berserk.

I got giantstrike for two and berserk for another. The rest of the party got fortitude. I reloaded only once.
