how the heck can you get past these things or kill them? cant get around them and they are in the path i need to go through. they keep killing my chars even if i try to run past.

Try it with long range spells like flamesrike, meteor, or lightning. If your charakters are unable to cast them and you haven't knocked out the Naga in the Temple of the Serpent Cult yet, then go there first in search for more experience. The first two mantraps I killed, while swimming in the lake near the burned out house. You can get it (them) if you really want!
