I am looking at Jinzter's faq with the snake temple info. It says for the temple maze problem, go to the north elevator of the northeast room. I went there and the elevator is not working. are the directions right? Do I need the patch?

The only way I got through there (even using a walkthrough) was to just go up & down lifts & check to see if I had been there before...if not I looked around, if so, then I went back & tried another. Took me a few but I made it finally!
I think one of them activates with a switch too.

Yep, that elevator only starts working after you used the switch in the SW room. Take the left elevator from the NE room to the SE room, and take left again. Pull the switch in the south and same way back.
