is there some quest involving them or is it really just a room full of mental chickens giving 1 exp?

No quest by my knowledge, you might see it as a bit of humour though.

I think that they took the idea from Zelda for Nintendo...hit the chicken enough then you get attacked by dozens of them.

and rabid chickens would be humourous but for the fact they just attack you and thats about it, you want quality humour in an rpg then go play fallout2 , fail an arm wrestle with a big ogre type creature and you become his gimp for the night, the next morning you get a sore arse, hp drop and a ballgag in your inventory [img]smile.gif[/img] advice is - dont lose to him!

hmm and saw on a walkthrough somewhere "house with chickens, 2000 xp + 1 reputation" thats a damned lie, all i got was 1 xp for each chicken :(
