I can go up ladders Ok. How to go down, other
than jumping?

The fall & splat method is all that most of us know.
Adam has surpassed us all in this great knowledge in that he has it mastered. Hopefully he will post a reply for you so that we can all follow in his wisdom.

I just read in the thread "Poll Laughing so hard you're missing the keys?" where adam mage made a new post with the trick to going down ladders.
Rather than copying & pasting it here, I thought you might want to check out that post and get a few giggles & perhaps some inspiration from the fine writing & poetry skills possessed by other forum members besides learning the mastery of ladder climbing without having to use the fall & splat method.

I'll try to describe it as best as I can...
ok go to the ladder, turn around until your back is to the ladder, look up to the middle of the ceiling/sky, back up a bit, and push the 'down' button or walk 'down'... it takes a little practice... I had to use it at the windmill...

I only do it when it's a looooong fall and I can't afford to lose my hit points nor broken legs...

Adam: AGH! I broke my leg....
Erin: oh dear... I'm not sure my abilities can heal THAT!
TAOQ: Erin, you might give it a try...
Morik: naw he's gonna slow us down, let's kill him instead....
Adam: gah! NO!
Erin: Shut up Morik,
Adam: all right! my leg's fixed! now let's go back out and kill those big mud guys!
Erin: maybe I should have used the Binding Force around Adam's mouth instead....
