I got the quest to scout Toad Village from Smitty. I went there without knowing there was a separate priest quest (Medkawa?) related to Toad Village. When I got there, toads outside of the village were hostile towards me, so I killed a couple, including Ekbu (Ebku?). Now that I'm inside, no one will talk to me or fight or anything. When I see Shinwicki, he calls me evil and casts a sleep spell on the party.

Am I hosed? Should I revert to an earlier save and start the quest back over? Should I get and finish the Medkawa quest first?

Also, in general, should I get the guild quests as soon as possible? It sounds like many of them are tied into the main quest line and can help if those are done first.

start the kermit the shinwiki quest over, in the end there is magic totum pole that gives
your groop 5 hit pionts(oh wow). I have never done it this way, but if you get the quest from the fight club. do it, then come
back and the fight club says "so the toads are having problems ay". I wunder if there is
a split quest there.

Do priest quest first, meet Medakawa and give him potion. He tell you that you (warmskin)are Ukabu and that you should go to toad village. Now when you go to toad village, find Ekbu and say to him Ukabu - you be welcome then and not have any problems except with friendly blocking toad.

Toad village is not needed for the main quest, but since you get great extra abilities from the guild quests, you should certainly do them. And getting them as early as possible, to prevent having to run back far for that stupid item you still have to fetch.
You might try a charm spell on Shinwiki to get him friendly again and do his quest. I guess the rewards are useful enough to try.
