Sometimes I get the message "Party has gained X amount of XP" (for instance, when doing the 8 chambers challenge with the Monks).

Is this XP that every party member gets, or is it a number that is divided among the party?

As far as I am aware it is divided amongst all party members.

When "Party gains X amount of XP" it is divided among all of your characters. As far as I know, the only time when they each get a set amount of XP is when it actually says so. Like, with a 3 member party:

Kyrvias gains 100XP
Anastrianna gains 100XP
Valas gains 100XP

etc, etc, etc.
