Not amused. This is the first time my game has managed to do this. The last time I installed the damn thing, it didn't freeze when it tried to load a new area. It gets stuck close to the end of the load and then cuts to the desktop. Its in chapter 1 after the troll & the moonblade and when you've slain the orc and try to process to the bridge. I don't know how much use that is though. I don't really want to reinstall the game - I had enough trouble installing the damn thing. Any solutions?

And before you ask if I'm patched, I'm trying to dl the damn thing now... maybe that will fix it. *sigh*. No other mods or the like are installed either.

Hmm...try all of these, but don't expect much!

Reload from earlier save game.
No?
Take cd out, clean, re-insert and play again.
No?
Patch the thing. (Although i'm not patching my one. just dunno where to get it!)
No?
Clean the disk and reinstall.
No?
Go complain to the shop you bought it from and get a new copy.
No?
Sue them.

Patch? Try viewing the topics in the IWD2 forum, the one on the top.

How about using cheat code command to by pass the trouble area? Not sure if you want that though.

I had similar problems in KOTOR what I found that fixed it was unchecking the EAX 2 block in sound. I hope it works in this game for you.

Hmm... maybe I will - anyone know the cheat codes? I'm too lazy to search :D
