Ok, 15 thousand reloads later and the rat still isn't even injured. Tried new spells, gulping whatver I had and or bought and still, the rat seems invincible. Watup wid dis brute?

bludgeoning damage only. hope you have a mace laying around.

i found the best strat was to distract him with your non mace players, by running in circles close to him, then having the players with bludgeoning weapons follow him and nail him. be careful, he does big damage nearly every strike.

Always have a spare mace/hammer on your sword/axe melee chars.. 2 chars with these weapons will take out the golem in no time..

The bullets dropped by the surrounding guards are useful...like that note on the ground says...i usually arm my lowest hit-pointed character with a sling and let him/her pick away at the golem

As the others have said, bludgeoning damage is necessary. If this is the first Crystal Golem you've encountered, I'm guessing you're on the map just past Oswald's crashed ship. If you've found the militia troops frozen in ice, note the rocks and levers on the ledge above. You can launch the rocks via levers, and re-launch the rocks by re-arming the levers. You can use these rock traps offensively against the Crystal Golem, but there are two downsides.

(1) You won't get exp for the kill.
(2) Those traps do a lot of damage, and you will need "bait" to keep the Crystal Golem within rockfall range. So, the "bait" must either absorb or avoid a whole LOT of damage. I used a Mirror Imaged mage, but summoned pets might also work.

For Crystal Golems and Ice Golems encountered in other areas, you'll need some sort of bludgeoning damage. If you're a crazy ass like me and run a party of 6 single-class Mages, all of whom exclusively use ranged weapons, you'll find that Slings can work in addition to Maces and Hammers. Bullets +2 and Sure Strike Bullets will hit. Normal Bullets and Bullets +1 won't.

Impact arrows and throwing hammers work too.

And I *think* the Lance of Disrupstion wizard spell did some damage.

PS~

It took me forever to kill that first one, but after that, the others went down much easier.

If you really, really can't kill it, you can turn down the battle difficulty some though purists would frown at you for doing it, so don't tell 'em if you do. ;)

Not for me. That was one of the first spells my Mages tried. Those golems resisted every bit of magic I threw at them.
