Hey Icewind Dalers,
Pretty quiet here lately it seems. There's almost a cold barren quality to posting here which is rather apt I reckon. :D Anyway, just a simple question. After finishing off all those hook horrors and stumbling upon the small Duerger encampment, I was rewarded with some kind of Dark dwarven axe which has a keen edge, adding somehow to the amount or quality of critical hits. Can anyone tell me how this works exactly? Does it work like the improved crit feat or something? I'm thinking of giving it to my dwarven fighter who has mostly been using the Ice Axe+1 with the Throwing Axe of shocking burst which is a fantastic and vicious weapon. |
if im not mistaken, it works something like this feat, yes.

In this game I dunno. Improved crit here only adds 1 to threat range, id guess keen weapons would be the same.
In regular dnd keen would double the crit threat range and improved crit would double it again. So axes i believe are threat 20 only, so imp crit 19, keen 19, keen and improved, 18-20. Keen scimitars with improved crit would give a wholesome 12-20. not bad eh? |

Now imagine someone casting Executioner Eyes on that Dual Keen Scimitars w/ Improved Criticals! Critrange goes to 7-20!!! And then that some fighter with DKSw/IC&EE picks Maximise Damage, Great Cleave, Weapon Focus Longsword and voila, meatmincer! Now, just to make it interesting, let's add Haste into the mix, with a bard singing The War Chant of Sith while a sorcerer casts Bull's Strenght and a cleric...*gets taken away by men in white coats, mumbling all the way*

i don't know how you got the weapon because i killed all the enemies there and went back and they attacked me
