I have gotten back the moonblade of selune from the troll who stole it from that priestess chick in the riverbed. (i beat half the game, but have reloaded from the beginning since my comp is in storage over the summer). last time i gave back her sword, but lacked any GREAT weapons that i needed, although the experience points were nice. should i keep the sword, or give it back to her.

some notes: last time i had six, so it was more difficult to afford enough good weapons, this time i only have four. i have a human palidin/fighter (2 levels in each, largesword and bastard swords), a half orc barbarian (level four, axes and blunts), a human cleric/druid (2 levels in each, longbows) and a human wizard/ranger (2 levels in each, crossbow).

supposedly if you do all the other quests, save the people and talk to the girl outside the camp and let her know her people are saved etc, do all the rest, THEN return it to her, she lets you keep it.

When you return the sword, be sure it is NOT your Paladin who does the talking. Paladins always refuse rewards for quests. If your party is good-aligned, she should let you keep the weapon when you bring it back to her.

Hey, I'm already into chapter 3 with a party of six and I've had absolutely no problem at all finding good armour and weapons. Its all dependent upon exactly how powerful early on you want to be of course. ;)

But yes, in my experience the game practically threw magical items at me. Its obviously perceived differently depending on our gaming styles as well. I love the early struggle for survival with very little in the way of magical items. That way, when you do actually find something powerful (the greataxe+1 or the ice axes for instance) they stand out and one gets the fullest appreciation for them.

Well, you indeed get enough magical weapons, but ARMOR and shields and protective items is a whole other story... With a 4 player party, you'll be lvl 8 BEFORE you can get a NORMAL full-plate for crying out loud! You *should* be able to get that at level 3 latest. Furthermore, I'm surprised that NOBODY up till a certain temple wears ANY rings of protection! In FAERUN?! I'm glad I installed the lost items component from EoU, since that gives me that +3 chainmail from Shawford...

okay, so i should have my good human cleric speak to the woman instead of my paladin (like last time) or my evil barbarian... got it. thanks guys.

BTW, where do i get that mod that you mentioned on the lost items, and is it too late to install it now that im in the river?

TheGlow 06-02-2004 11:42 AM

weidu.org has the Ease of use mod, has some nice stuff in it.
And I dont believe its too late. Maybe certain things, like I know they have it to add items to shops, and if youve already been to a shop like Oswalds or the Adventurers joint, they wont have the new items. But theres more stores in the game, so no big deal.

Spiff 06-03-2004 03:23 AM

I believe I installed the extra armor ease of use mod after I started the game. Didn't have any problems, seems like all the items are showing up in the shops just fine. So you should be able to get all the armors from the merchants, I think you'd probably only miss the stuff given as rewards for things you've already done.
Then again, I'm not 100% sure about when I installed the mod, so your mileage my vary

I put in the extra bastard swords to see one of them, but I had already been the that first shop, which its supposed to be at, so no sword for me. No biggy, no ones using bastards anyways.

You have to complete the quests that were mentioned and have anyone but your paladin talk with her AND refuse her gift of the sword. She then feels that you deserve it and gives it to you.

Good luck

I just realized that this post is very old ;)

Sorry for the late reply.
