Hi all,

I have recently developed a problem which prevents me from loading up any of my saved game files. I managed to get up to about Chapter 2, so the problem has just recently occured. I installed the patch but still nothing.
Whenever I click "Load Game" or "Quick Load" at the title screen, IWD2 shuts itself down displaying the message:
"An Assertion failed in CWorldMap.cpp at line number 249"

I've tried re-installing it about 20 times but to no avail. I have BG1, BG2 and have played the original IWD on my comp too, so I'm stumped at to what is going on. It's a Windows XP, with 256 RAM, Direct X version 8.1 and GeForce2 Go Card.

Any help would be most appreciated,

file corruptions.
both the baldur's gate series and iwd series are famous for this. :(
first off are you patched?
secondly, sometimes the corruptions can be fixed by emptying out the temp files. so try emptying that out.
but i would venture to say that your corruption has occurred in your savegame. and there's no cure for that. :( except to start over or go to an earlier save.
