I was reading through some of the old threads killing time and I kept hearing mention of a "Shortsword of Backstabbing". As my character is a fighter/thief this would prove to be a usefull item in the final battle, Providing that my game quits crashing, I was wondering where one would find it?

When you return to the city of Baldurs Gate in the last chapter, in the basement of the Iron Throne building are a couple of assassins who try to kill you. Kill them instead and you will find the sword of backstabbing on one of their bodies.

Actually, those assassins are in the Undercellar, not the basement of the Iron Throne, though there is a way to access the Undercellar by exiting out of the basement which leads to the sewers which can lead you to the Undercellar. I find it much easier to go to the Blushing Mermaid and directly access the Undercellar that way.

Is the Undercellar the house of ill repute that competes with the Low Lantern?
