Does anyone have suggestions for dispatching the witch lights or death candles? My fighters keep swinging but can't seem to hit them no matter how high the hit dice roll is. Any suggestions?

Use the best magical weapons that you have (check the village for nice spears), and eventually they will die.
concetrate on one at a time.

Use magical weapons, I think +2/+3 will do, when one disappears, keep your eyes open for when the same one reappears(same health, just a bit more) and then attack it. They're quoite resistant to magic, so weapons are the key here.

Also, I think that tactically, it's better to try to keep your party close together, rather than getting sucked into chasing the witch lights all around the screen. Stay close together and attack those lights that appear next to you. This also lets you support and protect your weaker characters.

Try casting bless/chant/prayer/recictation and any other spell that will help you out too...its a rough fight and i always dread it
