I can change the character appearence at the inventory screen but cannot change it in the normal state.I wanted my character to have some cool looking appearence.Is there a way?

This might be off-topic, but if you want a totally new model of a character you can use the editor...

If you mean what I think you do then no, you can't change it manually. Armor and clothing do this...trust me your characters will look pretty spiffy after you tog em out in the right threads ;) .
