I know what lore is, but still have some questions about it.

1. Is lore raised by experience and levels, or does it not change and is it defined just by abilities and class?

2. Is lore subject to the amount of times you identify? And if so, does identifying your items yourself influence lore more than identification in shops and temples?

1. Lore changes pr. lvl. Bards get +10, Mages and Theifs get +3 and the remaining classes +1 Lore pr. lvl. In addition you get bonus if you have high WIS and INT scores. (which can be increased by using potions)

2. No - only the factor mentioned above influencces Lore.

There is a chart in the appendix of the game manual that tells you at what levels you INT and WIS have to be at in order for your lore skill to grow. For example I believe that 9 or 10 is as low as your Int or Wis are allowed to be in order for your lore to continue to grow. This is why when you have a fighter that is strong, healthy and quick but dumb as a rock he will go through the entire game and never have a lore skill that reaches double figures.

I don't know much about the rest of that but i do know that once you ID a certian item, say a scroll of pretection against undead. Anytime you see that with the character it automatically ID's it. Is this lore, or just cuz they look alike?
