Am I to understand from my reading of things in this forum that you can export your main character from one game of BG1 and then import him into a new game of BG1 where he loses his gear but starts the game afresh with his EXP and abilities in tact? If this is true please tell me the steps to do this.

Well Mr Underhill, it does work, but only if you want to start a Multiplayer game. If you go into your regular game and check your character's "record", you should find an export box down on the right hand side. If you click on that it'll ask you to save the character (you'll see some generic types so go over one of those or rename specifically). Save the character, then start a new MP and in the character creation area you can import the character straight in. You'll play through the regular game, but as you can make all of the characters anyway, it isn't worth it: you'll miss out on the NPC interaction.

But if I thought that my guy was tough enough to try to go solo that would be the way to do it correct.

And also can I save characters that I have built in various attemts at BG1 and import them all into the same game? For example my drawven Fighter, My invoker, my cleric and my fighter/theif?

If you had six characters that you'd built through various stages of the game all the way up until the last fight, then you could import them all into a multiplayer game and they'd adventure the same as if they were first level.

You don't need to do any of this if you want to solo, just tell Imoen not to bother and don't run around picking up any of the NPCs (unless you want to kill Kagain for SixofSpades' favourite helmet). :D

actually, you can import your character into a regualr single person game. All it does is starts you out with higher stats, XP, and equipment. Importing into bg2 is another matter altogether. That's when you lose all of you're epuipment, but maintain stats and xp.

That's true, however only one would start out at the beginning (as "level one"). You can't import the others into the same game, so he'd need MP if IWMNWB wanted to create all six adventurers. I still don't think its worth it.
