I am close, well i think at least another chapter to go in Icewind Dale II. My party of six is now in Dragon's Eye. I am highly considering continuing into HOF mode after i win, but i haven't decided with what party i will chose. It would make more sense to use my party after they complete the game as they will have all ready the high level. Correct me if i'm wrong. Just a few questions: When starting on HOF, does my sorceror use the same spells memorized from the previous game? How about items. Are they saved? One more: Would anyone recommend me to use 5 of my 6 chars in HOF, and i could remake one more character from scratch. He/she would of course be level 1, but i figure if i keep him out of battle for the first chapter or so, he will gain levels rather quick. Any advise? Thanks |
To answer your question on spell/item transfer, yes, they are saved.
There are conditions, however. In a single player campaign:

Everything within your character's possession at the time of exportation is carried on to the next import, this includes experience, spells, and items
Containers and quest items do not transfer (containers being scroll cases, gem bags, etc.)[/list]In a multiplayer campaign, things are a little different. It all depends on what the host allows. I hope I managed to answer part of your query. |
Keep in mind that GOLD does *not* transfer over to HOF mode. Be sure that all your party members are loaded down with as much spare/excess equipment as you can manage. That will give you stuff to sell so you can buy goodies after you arrive in Targos.
Also, you will have to export individually all characters you want to use in HOF Mode. This should be done as close to the end of the game as possible.
Nightowl2
|
Actually, the game will auto export for you - it just doesn't give you a message that it has done so. However, the place where the game exports for you is NOT the most optimal in terms of gaining loot.

The game will automatically export for you before the figth with Isair and Mudae.

To Micah:
Are you saying, with your last sentence, that the place where the game exports you, i.e. the time it exports you, is before a big loot session? To All: By the way thanks for the info on buying as much as i can before the end. That will help. I shouldn't even have to cast Emotion: Fear on those goblins when i get there! I am just curious still, as to whether someone has tried using exported chars and creating a brand new char at level 1 to go along, and whether that level 1 char advances through levels quickly. Well, take care. Lata skata [ 02-10-2003, 08:52 PM: Message edited by: zakharak ] |
