I was thinking about making characters from BG2, the NPCs that is, for various IWD2 parties. Probably 1 evil, 1 good and 1 powergaming style.

I wanted to banter around some ideas with the forum to sort of flesh out the classes that they would probably have. State how you think that the NPCs of BG2 would be in your view. I am not thinking of changing races, just exploring the classes, even multiclassing and levels.

Imoen: Rogue/Wizard

Jaheira: Fighter4 Druid

Minsc: Barbarian/Ranger

Yoshimo: Rogue/Fighter

Aerie: Wizard (Specialist what?)/ Cleric of ? (Selune)

Jan: Rogue/Illusionist

Keldorn: Paladin of Helm/Fighter

Viconia: Cleric of ? (Bane/Mask)

Korgan: Barbarian/Fighter

Anomen: Fighter/Cleric of ? or Paladin of Ilmater/Cleric

Nalia: Rogue/Wizard (specialist ?)

Edwin: Sorcerer or Specialist ?

Haer'Dalis: Bard/Ranger

Valygar: Rogue/Ranger

Mazzy: Paladin

Cernd: Druid

I hope that I didn't miss anyone. What suggestions are yours?

This is an interesting idea. But given that IWD2 happens about 60 years before the events of BG2, I think that a more intriguing idea would be to come up with party ideas for the BG2 characters' ancestors (parents or grandparents). Heck, perhaps even include BG1 NPCs' ancestors as well.

One suggestion would be to not use elves however. As they are immortal, elves could be around during the time of IWD2. Convenient, yes. But if they fight their way thru the events of IWD2 (and get up to level 15-17), why aren't they at least that level at the time of BG1/BG2? Perhaps this is overthinking it a bit. Perhap not.

Regardless, I think that there's something amusingly creative about trying to imagine the BG1/2 NPC's grandparents and how they ended up in Icewind Dale and how they got back to the Sword Coast.

My party is done that way, somewhat, most of my characters are decendants of the original Icewind Dale party, except for my Paladin Amara who soon after the events found that she was half Aasimar and Morrow, a half-orc who has yet to find out why she's still alive...
