Does anyone finished playing IWD2 with one character? I am playing monk, now at level 24, chapter 5, and have just killed the portal guardian-that dragon, and I must say it was the first opponent I had to reload several times. Can somebody tell me whether there are some troubles waiting in the game if playing only one character? What do you generally think about playing one character in any RPG(mainly IWD, Wizardry, BG)? From my experience from IWD 2 and Wizardry 8 I think it is less challenging, because one character gets much stronger than entire party.

Well... at the beginning it's very chalenging, especially if you are not a priest, but it's a lot of fun. Especially in Icewind Dale II. But if you manage to survive long enough, you will come to a point where nothing can kill you anymore.

My uncle we get to it when he beats it with a party, then with a party with cheats, then he will play one character, then one character with cheats. And he always seems to complete this in a number of months.I now have the strong feeling that he is'nt really doing this.

Do it!Do it!Do it!The early game is boring because you are weak. The middle game is the most interesting because you start enjoying the battles. And the end parts of game is boring again(I'm joking) because while battling with 5 or more monsters you need not look at display, you can read a book and you know you will win! Suggestion: Nobody is superior to monk in one char play.

There's no need to congrat. Vice versa, I admire anybody playing with more characters because they share expierence and get to lower levels and you must think much more in battles as for their various abilities(protecting mages etc.).Try a game in one-man show style!

Welcome to Ironworks btw... have a great stay...

I almost always play with six characters... but i played with a drow rogue/sorceror and aasimar cleric/fighter once
Actually... now that I think of it... It was easier with only two... gotta try this with one

arion windrider 01-03-2003 10:54 PM

well i was thinkin of a rogue/fighter type.... that way i can detect traps and still get cool feats... what does anybody think of that one...
