I was wondering if it was going to affect my game at all if I "accidentally" :D killed all the Duegars in chapter 3. I heard that you eventually have to kill them all anyway. Please Help.

don't worry, I kill them all after I did their quest.

Well that was my problem. They told me to go clear the mine so I did but i never got anything out of it (not even a journal entry) which was what i was wondering about. However, i did get to progress to chapter 4 and the monastery so i guess its okay.

Firts Do their quest to get XP's and item. (Kill all in dungeon) Then free the spirit at the back (Talk with priest prefferably). Help the blacksmith (I used the wizard as I recall that engineering proffisiency requires INT though it's absent from the game) to construct his crossbow and get one as reward. Deside if you do want to kill the monks and if yes do not kill the duergars now but after killing the monks, otherwise hack them instantly. A good duergar is a dead duergar.

I must admit, I killed them B4 completing their quest, as the previous poster said. The only good Duergar ........
