I just hit this bug myself could someone let me know what the variable name for the cheatconsole is? Thanx

Sure, us night critters have to stick together ;)

After bringing up the console window, type:

SetGlobal("AR5101_monsters_dead","global",1);

And that should fix the quest flag.

You just saved me a few hours of file hacking .... had found the are file and had format ... was about to dig through the contents .... this is sooo much easier.

Edit: actually after checking it out, "AR5101_jellies_dead" would be more appropriate .... in case some people haven't actually killed every thing. not sure how this might interact though ....

Well, the quest is to kill all monsters, upper and lower caves. That includes the shambler and trolls, as well as the hook horrors. Setting just for the annoying slimes wouldn't be good enough.
