Anyone else kept the Moonblade you find as a quest item in Chapter 1?. I certainly have as it's the best weapon I've found so far.

It's also possible to "keep" the Moonblade by refusing any reward. Emma will give you the Moonblade as a reward.

Aha, I will try giving it back with my Paladin and see if she lets me keep it!.

I didn't get a chance to refuse a reward, all i got was cheaper healing :(

Do'h, that sucks - usually if you choose the selfless type response with her, saying something like you don't want the sword, then she gives it to you. Talking skill checks might have something to do with it as well. And I know in one game she said some special things when I had a Pally talk to her.

I had a Pally1/SorcX talk to her in a solo game... And she did the whole M'Lord thing even though it was only one level of Paladin! I think its easier to get the sword if you have a Paladin.

I've never had a problem receiving the sword from Emma. I do think it helps to have a diplomatic character talk to her. Any class will do, it doesn't have to be a paladin.

As for her being hostile, it's possible you hit her inadvertantly during the big fight when you first enter that section. NPC's turn hostile if they take any damage from you, even by mistake.
