I'm playing with 6 character. so I want to have a rogue as a scout ( he got high hide and move silently skill ) and as a sniper ( using a bow )as well. Is this good or am I wasting a good talent? does the sneak attack also work with bows?

I don't think it work with bow.

no? gee..that's sucks. back to the drawing board then.

Nope it doesn't work (it did in Neverwinter Nights and made the Rogue the perfect sniper).

You can get Envenom Weapon to work with any weapon, bows included, which is pretty cool. Still it's only a once a day thing.

The best sniper in this game is probably the Fighter since he can load up on feats that would help out archery the most.

A rogue with a good bow and rapid shot can be quite effective. Whenever you're not backstabbing, you can mow down the opposition that way.

By the strict rules, a rogue can sneak attack with a bow if the target iswithin 30 feet. I don't know if that's been implemented here or not.

Gimli : a fighter ( or character ) who do not hide and move silently but still uses a bow to shoot a monster is not a sniper. he is a sharpshooter. there is a difference here. ;)

Heh - well after the fighter gets turned invisible by a Wizard, he'd become a sniper

With hide and move silently skills, you could use him as a good assassin. That is typically what I do w/ my Rogue. If there are a bunch of monsters, I switch my Rogue to a short bow. If it is just a couple then I will use short swords and backstab them.

Hmm... I use my thief to eliminate a troublesome enemy after the fight has begun with my tanks. The theif then sneak attacks a spell caster or similar character. I like arterial strike for this, so that I can (theoretically) make them fail a spell. heh heh, they need to have low cons for that though. ;) The damage though, puts that caster mostly out of comition. The dualwielding assassin then finishes the wizard off and tries to avoid the enemy tanks.

I now notice a problem. whenever my rogue sneak up to a monster. she then fire an arrow. after that she just completely stand there looking at the monster charging up to her. why won't she continue fire another arrow?
