What's up with this spell? I've been noticing if you cast it on an enemy it will last indefinatly, even if you attack it. I even have tried resting, and when we wake up the monster(s) are still there and charmed. This wouldn't be quite so annoying if you didnt get ZERO xp for killing the charmed creature. Is this a known problem or is there something I am missing in the spell description?

That sure sounds like a bug. The charm is supposed to wear off after a certain time, namely 4 rounds plus 1 per level of caster, or if you attack the charmed person. Dire charm lasts a bit longer, but even that should dispel if you attack the target.
This may be something peculiar to your game, because I haven't seen anyone else mention this happening to them.
Nightowl2
P.S. You might want to try crossing a boundary to a different area; this may clear up the problem. |
Actually this has come up before and yes it certainly is a bug. I've seen it on the BIS forums and as far as I know theyre addressing it - try adding a post there to see if they have any specific instructions in the meantime whilst they patch it.

this has happened to me with incredibly unintellegent cretures like giants and troll and what not. Charm it again and it will clear up the problem
