Is anyone here interested in an Increased Difficulty Mod
for Icewind Dale II?
I have made a couple before, namely for Baldurs Gate 1,
IWD 1 and have allmost finished one for Baldurs Gate 2 +
Throne of Bhaal (much delayed).
What the mod basically consists of is all monsters and
guards having 3x Hitpoints and 2x experience.
This puts the difficulty level somewhere above 'insane',
but not quite as rediculous as 'Heart of Fury'.

Of course as its a seperate mod, you can still play on
whatever difficulty level you wish, including HOF.

HOF + my mod is truly for those that belong in padded
rooms!

anyone interested?
cheers
trev

Did you play Icewind Dale II? It's already very hard. Personally, I wouldn't try a increased difficulty mod, as I had lot of trouble completing the regular game.

Well some people live on the wrong side of sanity, and might appreciate something that will make them tear their hair out

i put myself in that category.
i found baldurs gate good, but lacking something...
till i play IWD. yummo.
bugger the plot, i wanna kiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiill!
and yes, i did play my increased difficulty mod ontop heart of fury.
truly terrible.

so im sure someone will appreciate the challenge

Thanks and no thanks. I find some of the battles (in moderate difficulty) are as nerve wrecking as they could be already. Perhaps someone here who finds that HOF is "too easy" might might want to try out your mod.

hehehe. i saw someone who just posted a day ago saying that insane mode was a bit too easy and they were considering HOF ;)

play it in hard
now at chapter 5 (beating the lost ones yesterday )
must say: it's hard enough !!

I had to drop the difficulty setting down one notch just to get past the are where you are trying to get into the fortress! And I still do not fare well!

Well I will say I have never dropped the difficulty setting in IWD2 only coz i'm totally against doing it as I feel like i'm cheating - seriously it's almost an ego thing where I pit myself against the whole game muttering things like "Them F$&@ers wont beat me!" as I reload my last save

I would never call IWD2 difficult... It is however, challenging and probably the most challenging IE game yet. In my view 'Difficult' is something that is extremely hard to master or beat with very few options open to you to do this, which isn't the case at all here.

This time I think they wanted to give the hardcore fans a real run for their money, BG2 boasted great RPing and interesting storylines but (lets face it) wasn't very challenging at all when it came to the foes (They've even made mods to remedy the final battle as it was too easy for alot of people).
But yeah, my point is i'm enjoying it just the way it is, I think to up the difficulty rating would upset a balance that Black Isle achieved here.
Not too easy not too tough ;)

Yes. challenging.
makes one develop new tactics to survive.

I have to say that I would like the mod...the xtra exp before tackling Fury would be nice.
