I got it legit in my game. I believe I got it in the severed hand, but I am not sure. I didn't use it, because my mage is using +4 bracer, a +3 ring, and a very nice robe that raise intelligence, magic resistance, and something else I think.

Yeah, it's in the barracks on the fourth floor of the tower. Of course, that's rather late in the game ;) Much nicer if you could have it sooner.

Actually, it's also a pretty cool armor to give a Rogue as well. No max DEX bonus! No Armor Check penalty!

I gave it to my Rogue in my 1st party. My wizard and bard both were wearing so much other magical stuff that they already had very good AC's. My rogue was able to make better use of it.
